Duplicate products can be created in Veeqo for two main reasons:
When you're first setting up Veeqo and connecting your sales channels, if a listing doesn't match an existing product's SKU, Veeqo creates a new product record instead of linking to the existing one. This can also happen if an inactive listing (which still pulls into Veeqo) uses a different SKU than the one already in your account.
When you add new listings to a channel you've already connected — for example, if you recreate a listing or add the same item to a channel under a different SKU
When a product is duplicated, stock levels become inaccurate. So, finding and merging duplicates is the best way to make sure your channels are all connected and your stock is correct.
NOTE: If you're just setting up Veeqo, following the recommendations in our Getting Started guides (click here for US and here for UK), particularly keeping SKUs consistent across channels before connecting them, can reduce the chance of duplicate products being created in the first place. The steps below can still be used any time duplicates do occur, whether during setup or afterwards.
IMPORTANT:
You cannot merge bundles in Veeqo.
Merging products is irreversible
If a product is in any pending actions (e.g picking batches, returns etc.) in Veeqo it cannot be merged unless it is selected as the main product. This is because the main product is the product that will remain in Veeqo after merging is complete.
Products with stock committed to pending orders may also be blocked from merging, or show an error such as "same SKU" or "no inventory" when you try. If you hit this, complete the pending order/picking batch first, or select the product with committed stock as the main product, then try again.
Before You Start
When you merge products, you choose a main product to use in Veeqo. The merged product will only show the details of the main product you selected, including:
product name
product SKU
stock levels
Stock After Merging
When you merge products, Veeqo keeps the stock information from the product you select as the main product. Stock held on the other (non-main) product is deleted, not added to the main product's stock level. If the main product did not contain complete stock information, you will need to check and adjust stock manually after merging to avoid over- or under-selling.
NOTE: If the products you are merging are listings from two different channels, details such as SKU and product name will not be pushed to the listing. Your listings can have different details, but the product they are linked to in Veeqo should be the same for accurate stock tracking.
Simple product merge
Go to the inventory page.
Select the duplicated products you want to merge into one.
Click Actions.
Choose “Merge selected products”
If you would like to add more duplicates to be merged, use the search bar to bring up the products you would like to merge. Click the plus icon to add to the selection or the minus to remove items from your selection.
Select the product you would like to use as the main product using the radio buttons below.
Click merge. You will see the popup below confirming your merge when it is completed.
NOTE: The product you select in step 6 will be the product that remains in Veeqo after merging is complete. This includes stock levels.
Review and Merge Multiple Products
Veeqo has a review products functionality which will part products as needing a review if we suspect they are duplicates. You can view all products needing review and work through these in batches.
Go to the inventory page.
Click “Filter” and open the “Review” menu.
Add the filter “Needs review".
Click the check boxes to the left of each of the products you would like to review OR click the check box on the top left of the product list to select all.
Click actions and select “Review”. A pop-up will appear allowing you to go through each of the products you selected in turn.
This step depends on if you suspect the product has duplicates. If you are confident that the product has no duplicates that need to be merged, proceed to step 7. If not, skip to step 9.
Click “Mark as reviewed” This will dismiss the product from the review list but you will still see the review flags on those products to go back to later.
Repeat this step for each product you would like to skip.
If you want to merge the product with duplicate products with duplicate products, proceed below:
Find duplicates by SKU or Product name using the search bar
Click the plus icon to the left of the products you would like to merge
Choose which of the duplicate products you would like to use as the “Main product” using the radio buttons. Veeqo will use the information from this product as the merged product’s details.
Click “SAVE AND CONTINUE”
A banner will pop up to confirm that your items are ready to merge and Veeqo will move on to the next product in the ticked queue.
Repeat these steps for each product you would like to merge.
