Before You Start
Before connecting your AbeBooks store to Veeqo, please check the following:
You have not already created an API in your AbeBooks Account. If you have then you will need to:
1) know what your API Key is to be able to use it to connect to Veeqo
or
2) be prepared to generate a new API Key in AbeBooks.
Important: If you have previously created an API Key and you no longer have access to it, you cannot retrieve your existing API Key in Abebooks. You will need to generate a new API Key. You will need to update all other 3rd party apps connected to Abebooks using your API key as regenerating the key will invalidate the existing one.
How does the AbeBooks integration work?
Every 10 minutes, new orders will be downloaded from AbeBooks to Veeqo
When you ship an order in Veeqo, AbeBooks is updated with the details such as the fulfilment status and tracking numbers. This will only work if you purchase a label, NOT if you mark the order as shipped with "Other"
Shipped status and details will be updated on AbeBooks within 10 minutes.
NOTE: It is not possible to manage Inventory on your AbeBooks store with Veeqo currently. You will need to maintain accurate inventory on your AbeBooks store independently
Connecting Your AbeBooks Channel
Contact the Veeqo Support team. The support agent will request the connection of your account.
You’ll receive an email within 48 hours. Follow the steps in the email to complete your account connection.
Getting your Abebooks Credentials
This will be needed when you receive your setup email.
Log into Abebooks and click on MY ACCOUNT (top right)
Click ACCOUNT DETAILS (Middle section under the header MY PERSONAL INFORMATION)
Click Marketplace Profile
Scroll to bottom where you should see ACCOUNT INFORMATION Header. Here you will 1) find your USER ID if it already exists 2) be able to create one if it does not.
Click back into MY ACCOUNT (Top right) and scroll back to the MY PERSONAL INFORMATION column (Middle of screen) and click MY API KEY
Here you can generate a new API Key. Copy this API Key. You will NOT be able to retrieve this again as it will be hidden
IMPORTANT!!
If you have previously created an API Key you will see the following option to regenerate an API Key. You cannot retrieve an existing API Key meaning you will need to regenerate a new key BUT this will mean that you will need to update whichever other 3rd party app you are using the API Key as regenerating the key will invalidate the existing one.
Deactivating Your AbeBooks Channel
Contact Veeqo Support. They will disconnect you Abebooks channel from Veeqo.
