From July 22nd, owners logging into Veeqo using email will be required to set up 2FA using an authenticator app. This measure will be rolled out to other uses in the near future.
Add another layer of security to your account log-in by enabling Two-Step Verification (also known as Two-Factor Authentication). A second form of authentication can help prevent unauthorized account access if a system password has been compromised. Two-Step Verification is a requirement for account owners and any admins who wish to be able to update other users' details.
NOTE: This option is specific to users who sign in with email. If you are using Amazon’s Single Sign on option you can enable Two-Step Verification directly in the Amazon account you used to sign up.
Before You Start
Before you can use two-factor authentication in Veeqo, you will need to:
Install an authenticator app on your mobile device or desktop
Install an authenticator app on your mobile device or desktop
Authenticator apps are super easy to install and use. Simply search for recommended authenticator apps in your region online and install it. Not sure which authenticator app to use? This New York Times article covers some popular options.
Once you connect your Veeqo account to the authenticator, each time you login you'll get a code sent to the app which you will need to enter into Veeqo. This means that should your email account or passwords get leaked, anyone trying to access your account will be blocked, as they also need access to the device you have the authenticator installed on. Authenticator apps can be installed on either a mobile, tablet, or your desktop. It's up to you which option you prefer!
Verify your email
Verify your email
We will ask you to verify your email address in Veeqo when you attempt to set up 2FA, unless you verified your email when you signed up. Simply follow the prompts and enter the code from your email in Veeqo, then click next to proceed with 2FA.
If you want to do this before you are prompted:
Log in to your account.
Go to settings.
Click users.
Scroll to your user account. You should see a red cross next to your user, under email status. This means that email verification is required.
Click the pencil icon to edit the user.
Click the send arrow next to your email address to send a verification email to that email address.
Follow the steps in the email to verify your email address.
Once your email is verified, you should see a green tick next to your user. This confirms that your email address is verified.
TIP: Not seeing the email in your inbox? Make sure you have checked your spam folder! If you haven't received the email within 5 minutes, contact support.
NOTE: If you are being prompted to verify your email, this is because it's mandatory before 2FA can be configured. You will not be able manually resend the email and should contact support.

If you have logged into Veeqo and are seeing a QR code, it's time to set up 2FA!
To do this:
Download an authenticator app on your mobile or desktop. See above for more information.
Open the authenticator app and add a new account. You should see an option to set up using a QR code. This will look a bit different depending on the app you are using so check the instructions for your app if needed.
From the authenticator app, scan the QR code in Veeqo and follow the prompts in the app.
In Veeqo, enter the 6-digit code from the authenticator app.
Click verify.
Save your recovery codes somewhere secure. These are required to access your Veeqo account if you ever get locked out of your authenticator app (for example, if you lose your phone).

Troubleshooting and FAQs
Use the FAQs below to work through common issues with 2FA.
TIP: Scanning the QR code with your phone's regular camera won't work. It must be scanned from inside the authenticator app.
I only log into Veeqo with my Amazon credentials. Do I need to set up 2FA?
No. Veeqo's two-factor authentication (2FA) only applies to Veeqo email and password login. If you log in by clicking "Login with Amazon," you're using Amazon's credentials and Veeqo's 2FA will not trigger. Your security is handled by Amazon's own authentication. You may use both email and Amazon to log in - in which case you will need 2FA when you log in with an email and password.
How do I use the QR code?
The QR code must be scanned from inside your authenticator app, not with your phone's regular camera. Here's how:
Open your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
Tap the "+" or "Add account" button inside the app.
Choose "Scan QR code."
Point your phone at the QR code on your screen.
The app will now generate 6-digit codes for Veeqo.
The QR code isn't appearing on my screen. What do I do?
Try the following:
Refresh the page.
Try a different browser (Chrome recommended).
Clear your browser cache and cookies.
My authenticator code isn't working. It says "invalid."
The most common reasons:
The code expired. Authenticator codes refresh every 30 seconds. If you waited too long, the code changed. Look at the timer in your app and enter the current code quickly.
Your device clock is wrong. Authenticator apps depend on your phone's time being accurate. Go to your phone's Settings → Date and Time → enable "Set time automatically." Even being 30 seconds off will cause codes to fail.
Do I need to scan the QR code every time I log in?
No. The QR code is a one-time setup step. After that, your authenticator app automatically generates new codes. You just open the app and read the current code at each login.
Can I turn off 2FA?
No. 2FA is now mandatory for all account owners. This protects your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.
I am setting up 2FA and I just entered a 6-digit code and now I'm seeing the QR code. What is happening?
If you were asked for a 6-digit code before seeing the QR code, this was to verify your email. Email verification is separate to 2FA and only has to be done once. Most accounts will have verified their email as part of account setup, but if you haven't done this you'll be prompted to do so before 2FA can be configured.
